As per the Ghana Education Service (GES) 2023, New Academic Calendar for all KG-Primary/JHS and Secondary Public Schools in Ghana, the reopening date for all schools approved by the Hon. Minister of Education by recommendation of the Ministerial Committee on the School Calendar are the following:
Second Cycle Schools
SHS 3: Monday, 9th January 2023
SHS 2: Monday, 9th January 2023
SHS 1: Sunday, 20th February 2023
Basic Schools
JHS 1-3: Tuesday, 10th January 2023
Primary 1-6: Tuesday, 10th January 2023
KG 1-2: Tuesday, 10th January 2023
But due to the statutory holiday that falls on Monday, January 9, 2023, management has rescheduled the reopening date for all high schools to Tuesday, January 10, 2023, instead of Monday, January 9, 2023. All students Parents and the general public must take note of the new date and act accordingly.

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) would like to inform students, staff, parents, and the general public that due to the official holiday on Monday 9th January 2023, secondary schools are expected to reopen on Tuesday 10th. January 2023.
Elementary school principals should note that the reopening date for elementary and secondary schools remains January 10, 2023. Students, staff, and the general public should take note.
