In order to improve security, Mr. Bernard Ahiafor, who is also the leading member of Parliament’s Committee on Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs, donated 450 boxes of “LED-type” lighting to the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly.

In order to decrease criminal activity at the various electoral sites within the Municipality, it is also important to guarantee appropriate visibility.

While delivering the streetlights to the Assembly for distribution later, Mr. Daniel Dagba, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Akatsi South Constituency Secretary, remarked “This will enhance visibility and also improve the security situation within our Municipality,”

The assembly’s presiding member, Mr. Raphael Ahiable, thanked Mr. Ahiafor and his constituency executives for the gift and accepted the lights on behalf of his fellow members.

The MP received his assurance that the lights would be used strategically.

The short presentation ceremony with some assembly staff was witnessed by Mr. Kofitsey Martin Nyahe, the municipal chief executive for Akatsi South.

He told the Ghana New Agency that the MP’s donation should be commended and that “these will increase visibility at night since the assembly had similarly distributed several lights earlier.”
