Osei Kyeretewie Senior High School Courses and Details

By | 17 June 2023

Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School was founded in July 1937 as the Asante region’s first secondary school. The late Rev. J.T. Robert founded Asante Collegiate as a private educational institution with only a handful of all-boys students.

After many years of private management, the school was taken over by the Ministry of Education in September 1958, relocated to Dichemso in September 1968, and renamed Osei Kyeretwie (after Nana Sir Osei Ageyman Prempeh II, Otomfuo, the Asantehene), who was known in private life as Obarima Osei Kyeretwie.

The current Tafo site of approximately 168 acres of land was allocated in 1970 to enable the school to build a permanent campus; the school has operated from both the Dichemso and Tafo campuses for the past 34 years.

Following persistent pressure, the government eventually agreed to relocate the entire school to Tafo in 2004.

“Service to God and humanity” is the school’s philosophy or motto. The school’s products are affectionately referred to as “AHENEMAA”… Princesses and princes.
