The Yale Young Global Scholars Program

The Yale Young Global Scholars is a world-class academic and leadership program at Yale University that was founded on liberal arts principles, is known for its diverse and inclusive community, and is dedicated to increasing educational access.

Yale Young Global Scholars empowers the next generation of leaders by fostering intellectual curiosity and deepening understanding through the development of a global community and the design of interdisciplinary programs.

Required Documents for the Application Process

All applicants must have the following three (3) components:

1. Application form completed
2. Transcripts or grade reports must be official (s)
3. One (1) recommendation from a teacher

Qualifications for Yale University Undergraduate Scholarships

Applicants must fulfill the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the 2023 Yale Young African Scholars Program in the United States:

1. To be considered, you must be 14 years old or older on the application deadline, which is February 1, 2023. Please be aware that a typical YYAS student ranges in age from 15 to 18.
2. to be able to engage in a demanding academic program conducted in English.
3. Be an African national or having a permanent address there.
4. Applications from refugees residing in African nations will also be accepted.
   Currently, I go to school in an African nation.
5. Being enrolled in 11th grade right now (or the international equivalent).
6. You must complete secondary school by at least May/June 2024 if you attend classes in the Northern Hemisphere.
7. If you attend classes in the Southern Hemisphere, you must finish secondary school by November/December 2023 at the earliest and no later than November/December 2023

Application Procedure for Yale University Undergraduate Scholarship

1. To apply, go to Yale Young Global Scholars at apply.globalscholars.yale.edu.
2. Click “Apply Now” to begin your YYAS application. Remember to save your email address and password in case you need to access the application later. The application deadline is February 1, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
3. Check the application’s “Review” page to see if any required components are missing, and return to any pages that require additional information.
4. Once your application is complete, go to the “Review” page. Next, at the bottom of the page, click the “Submit Application” button.
5. Check your inbox for a YYAS confirmation receipt indicating the successful submission of your application.
