Doctoral Scholarship Site for the National Research Foundation Please be advised that all interested candidates are eligible for the NRF-MINDS Doctoral Scholarship.

All qualified applicants may purchase an NRF-MINDS doctoral scholarship program scholarship at this time if they wish to participate in the continuing application process.

The ongoing applicant should have met the prerequisites and qualifications for the NRF-MINDS Doctoral Scholarship Program.

A system-wide evaluation carried out for the Department of Arts, Culture, Science, and Technology led to the National Research Foundation Act (Act No. 23 of 1998), which formed the NRF (DACST).

The former Center for Science Development (CSD) of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) and the former Foundation for Research Development (FRD), which included several National Research Facilities, were two research funding organizations that were previously providing services to different segments of the research community.

being a resident of any African country and being a citizen of a nation other than South Africa

be 32 years old on December 31st of the year you apply for the doctorate fellowship, or younger, and

Be planning to enroll in full-time PhD studies at a public university in SA beginning with the following academic year of the year of application.
