Scholarships from the DAAD EPOS for Postgraduate Studies in Development

Individual scholarships are provided by the DAAD EPOS Scholarships program to participants from developing nations so they can pursue postgraduate studies in development at particular German universities.

Criteria and Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the DAAD EPOS Scholarships:

  • Work in a developing country for a public authority, a state or private company, and as such is involved in the planning and execution of directives and projects with an emphasis on development policies affecting technological, economic, or social areas.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (normally four years) in a related subject is required.
  • Has completed an academic degree with significantly above-average results (upper third) and, ideally, at least two years of related professional experience after the first degree (bachelor).
  • His/her academic degrees should not be older than six years.
  • For study courses in German (scholarship includes a 6-month German language course), have a minimum German language level of A2 at the time of application: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4. Furthermore, German language proficiency at the B1 level is highly recommended.
  • For English courses, you must have an IELTS or TOEFL certificate.
