Kumasi Nurses and Midwifery Training School

The Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC), Kumasi, which was formerly two distinct institutions; Nurse’s Training College (NTC) and Midwifery Training School (MTS), was merged into one in 2007. Since September 2016, the College has also offered a two-year Post Nurse Assistant Clinician /Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAC/NAP) certificate program.

NMTC, Kumasi, awards diplomas to its students and adheres to certain principles towards people, their health, nursing, and education.

Vision

Nurses and Midwives graduating from this institution shall be empowered to provide quality client/patient care through maintenance of professional excellence.

Mission

To train and turn out competent nursing and midwifery professionals to restore, maintain and promote health.

Admission Requirement/Cut off

The cut off point for admission is 24. SSCE applicants must receive at least a D (4) in six subjects and WASSCE applicants must obtain at least C (6) in six subjects (3 core subjects and 3 elective subjects).

The minimum grade requirement for applicants with “O” or “A” Levels is “Grade 6” in five (5) “O” level topics, including English, Math, and a Science/Arts subject. In addition, they must pass in three subjects, with at least one of those passes being an “A” grade or above.

  9. Anesthesiology (BSc)

Application Details

It is required of applicants to purchase e-vouchers to proceed with application. Either through the Ghana Commercial Bank or Agricultural Development Bank or simply via mobile money through the short code *887*18# and follow the instructions.

After acquiring the e-voucher, applicants should follow the steps below to apply for admission:

  1. Log on to the Health Training portal: https://apply.healthtraining.gov.gh/application
  2. Enter the Serial Number and PIN on the e-Voucher you purchased.
  3. Click on the “SUBMIT” button
  4. Complete all required fields with true and pertinent data (Please cross-check all of your provided information).
  5. Where necessary, scan and upload all pertinent documents, such as certificates and passport-size photos.
  6. Click the “SUBMIT” button once you are done providing the  necessary information.

NB: The application summary should be printed out since it will be used as a reference in all other processes of admission.

Applicants who meet admission requirements will then be called for an interview.
