Akatsi College of Education Admission Requirements

Prospective students must achieve a minimum grade of D (4) in six subjects.

  • SSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination):
    • A1 – Excellent
    • B2 – Very Good
    • B3 – Good
    • C4 – Credit
    • C5 – Pass
    • C6 – Credit Applicants must score at least a D (4) in six WASSCE subjects (comprising 3 core and 3 elective subjects).
  • SSSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination): A minimum aggregate score of 24 is required, along with a D (4) grade in at least six subjects.
  • GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels: Applicants holding ‘O’ or ‘A’ Levels must have a Grade 6 or better in five ‘O’ level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science/Arts subject. They should also have passes in three subjects, with at least one pass being Grade D or better at the ‘A’ Levels.

Entry Requirements for Special Needs Applicants:

  • Visually Impaired: Study facilities are available at N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education in WA, Wesley College of Education in Kumasi, and Presbyterian College of Education in Akropong.
    • Applicants with WASSCE results should have credit passes (A1-C6) in two core subjects, including English Language and Social Studies, and three relevant elective subjects.
    • Applicants with SSSCE results should have passes (A-D) in two core subjects, including English Language and Social Studies, and three relevant elective subjects.
  • Hearing Impaired: Study facilities are available at Presbyterian College of Education in Akropong.
    • Applicants with WASSCE results should have credit (A1-C6) in three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, and three relevant elective subjects.
    • Applicants with WASSCE results should have passes (A-D) in three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, and three relevant elective subjects.
