The grade point average, or GPA, is a figure that represents your overall average in each of your courses. Your GPA monitors your academic achievement on a scale from 1.0 to 4.0. This figure is used to determine whether you satisfy the requirements and criteria established by the degree program or university.
Your average GPA is a figure that represents how frequently you did well in your classes over the course of a semester, term, or year. Over your time at the university, your average GPA score may fluctuate, depending on how much you raise your cumulative grade point average (or, in some cases, how much you fall behind).
How to Calculate the University of Ghana GPA
To calculate your GPA, add the points for each grade you received and divide the total by your CCT.
For example, if you took five three-credit-hour courses and received three As, a B+, and a C, your GPA will be calculated as
Total Grade Point (TGP) = A+A+A+A+B+C
= 12 + 12 + 12 + 10.5 + 6
= 52.6
As a result, GPA = TGP/ CCT.
= 52.6/ 15
= 3.51
The following step is to compute your Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). This is the sum of all the points you received for each course divided by the total number of credit hours for all of the courses you took while at UG.
How to calculate your CGPA
Overall Grade Point Average for all courses taken is equal to the sum of all course credits.
The GPTs and Credits will be derived from L100 first and second semesters, L200 first and second semesters, L300 first and second semesters, and L400 first and second semesters, assuming you took the exam in Level 400 second semester.
