2024 Ghana Armed Forces Requirement

Here are the requirement for Ghana Armed Forces

  1. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
  2. Be of good character.
  3. Not be bonded to any organization.
  4. Not be less than 18years and not more than 26 years by 06 Jan 2025.
  5. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standards.
  6. Must pass the Pre Joining Fitness Test.
  7. Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6”) for males and 1.60m (5’4”) for females. For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (5`9“) and 1.70m (5’ 7”) for females.
  8. In addition to the above, one must also have the following:
    1. Six (6) Passes at BECE including English and Mathematics.
    2. WASSCE. Six (6) Credits (Not less than C6) including Core EnglishCore Mathematics. and Science.

OR

  1. SSSCE. Six (6) Credits (not less than D) including Core English and Core Mathematics.

OR

  1. GCE ‘O’ & ‘A’ Levels. Five (5) Credits (not less than 6) including English and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects and General Paper at GCE ‘A-Level.

REGULAR COMMISSION FOR OFFICER CADET – ARMY 2024

1. Infantry/Armour/Artillery. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University.

2. Signal Corps. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

  1. Civil Engineering.
  2. Mechanical Engineering.
  3. Structural Engineering.
  4. Project Management in any Building Environment Discipline.
  5. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years working experience in the relevant field of application and must be a registered member of GHIE or requisite Professional Body, in good standing and with a practicing License and Certificate from the regulating Professional Body. Preference will be given to candidates with Masters.

2. CATERING SCHOOL. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years by 10 February 2023. Must have any of the following:

  1. M. Phil in Hospitality Management.
  2. Masters in Hospitality Management/Catering Management.
  3. With 3 years Post qualification working experience in teaching and practice.

3. ORDNANCE CORPS. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years by 10 February 2023. Must have any of the following:

  1. Advanced Qualification in Ammunition Technology/Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
  2. MSc/M.Phil in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering/Physics.

4. LEGAL In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 10 February 2023. Must have a First Degree from a recognized University or equivalent Professional Institution in any of the following:

  1. Bachelor of Law, LLB.
  2. Professional Law Course (PLC) eg Barrister at Law (BL)/Post Call Law Course certificate and must have completed Pupillage.

5. AIR FORCE ONLY In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years and must have a Masters Degree from a recognized University in any of the following:

Engineering Branch.

  1. MSc/MA in Development Finance.
  2. MBA/MSc/MA in Finance.

6. MEDICAL. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must:

  1. . Not more than 40 years of age for Medical and Dental Specialists.
  2. Not more than 35 years of age for Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons and Clinical Psychologists.
  3. Not more than 33 years of age for Specialized Nurses, Midwifery Officers, Pharmacists (PharmD), Audiologists, Certified Registered Anaesthetists and Health Services Administrators (Master’s degree).
  4. Not more than 30 years of age for Biomedical Scientists, Occupational Therapists, Sonographers, Respiratory Therapists, Radiographers, Pharmacists (BPharm) and Health Services Administrators (First degree).

7. SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS. Applicants must possess the following specific entry qualification requirements:

  1. Medical and Dental Specialists. Applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution plus a relevant post-graduate qualification to the level of Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent from an accredited College. Applicant must have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and be in good standing.
  2. Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons. Applicant must have an/a MB ChB/BDS degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Applicant must also have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and in good standing. Applicant with at least one (1) year post-permanent registrationwork experience would have an added advantage.
  3. Pharmacists. Applicant must have either a:
    1. Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from an accredited institution and should have practised for at least two (2) years post-permanent registrationas a Pharmacist.
    2. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution and should have practised for at least one (1) year post-permanent registrationas a Pharmacist.
    3. All must be in good standing with the Pharmacy Council, Ghana.
  4. Specialized/Specialist Nurses. Applicant must have a BSc degree/Membership in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-Operative, Emergency Care, Plastics & Burns, Paediatrics, Ophthalmic Nursing, Nephrology Nursing and other specialties with at least one (1) year working experience post-permanent registrationin a recognized health facility. Applicant must be in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
  5. Midwifery Officers. Applicant must have either a:
    1. BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years practice post-permanent registrationor
    2. BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution and a Diploma in Midwifery (RM) with at least one (1) year practice post-permanent registration.
    3. All must be in good standing with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
  6. Health Services Administrators.Applicant must have a BSc/Master’s degree in Administration (Health Services option) from an accredited institution and must have completed the mandatory national service. Applicant should also have at least one (1) year work experience post-national service as a Health Services Administrator.
  7. Clinical Psychologists.Applicant must have an MPhil/MSc Clinical Psychology degree from an accredited institution plus one (1) year work experience in a recognized institution as a Clinical Psychologist post-permanent registration with the Ghana Psychological Council and be in good standing.
  8. Radiographers.Applicant must have a BSc degree in Radiography and should have practised for at least one (1) year post-permanent registration as a Radiographer. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  9. Occupational Therapists.Applicant must have a BSc degree in Occupational Therapy and should have practised for at least one (1) year post-permanent registration as an Occupational Therapist. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  10. Sonographers. Applicant must have a BSc degree in Sonography plus at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registrationas a Sonographer. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  11. Respiratory Therapists. Applicant must have a BSc degree in Respiratory Therapy plus at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registrationin a recognized health facility. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  12. Biomedical Scientists. Applicant must have a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science/BSc Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution plus at least one (1) year work experience as a Biomedical Scientist in a Medical Laboratory facility. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council
  13. Certified Registered Anaesthetists (CRA). Applicant must have either a:
    1. BSc degree in Anesthesia from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years work experience post-permanent registrationor
    2. BSc degree in Anaesthesia with Advanced Diploma in Nurse Anaesthesia with at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registration.
    3. All must be in good standing with the appropriate Regulatory body.
  14. Public Health Officer (Environmental).Applicant must have either a:
    1. BSc Public Health (Environmental Health) from an accredited institution with at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registrationor
    2. BSc Public Health (Environmental Health) plus the West African Health Examination Board Diploma with at least two (2) years work experience post-permanent registration.
    3. All must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.
  15. Public Health Officer (Disease Control). Applicant must have either a:
      1. BSc Public Health (Disease Control) from an accredited institution with at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registrationor
      2. BSc Public Health (Disease Control) plus Diploma in Disease Control and Surveillance with at least two (2) years work experience post-permanent registration.
      3. All must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

8. CHAPLAIN In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years of age by 10 February 2023 and have the following:

  1. First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Theology or Religion (BA) from a recognised University/Theological Seminary/College..
  2. An ordained Minister of the Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Evangelical Presbyterian, SDA and the Church of Pentecost and be recommended for commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of the Church.
  3. A minimum of four (4) years pastoral working and probation/internship experience including two (2) years post ordination service in the pastoral field.
  4. Ability to speak English and at least one of the main Ghanaian languages fluently.

9. IMAM In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years of age by 10 February 2023 and have the following:

  1. . First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Islamic Theology (Religion) from a recognized University, Islamic Institution or College.
  2. An Alim Phedeen (Islamic Theologian).
  3. Fluent in both spoken Arabic and English Languages
  4. Ability to read and write good Arabic and English Languages
  5. Practised as Imam for four (4) years and be recognized by a recognised Islamic Religious Institution/Body in Ghana.
  6. Recommended for commission into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of a recognized Islamic body in Ghana.

APPLICATION FOR 2022 OFFICER ENLISTMENT IN PROGRESS. All candidates are to follow instructions given by the GHQ (Personnel Administration) in the advertisement.

1. To join the Ghana Armed Forces as a RECRUIT or CADET acquire a scratch card at THREE HUNDRED GHANA CEDIS (GH¢ 300.00) from the designated Post Offices

2. Scratch gently to reveal the “PIN” code. The scratch card can be used for three times until a record is successfully submitted.

3. Log on to the recruitment portal @ https://apply.mil.gh with any of the following browsers:

  1. Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Google Chrome.

4. Read through the entry requirements thoroughly.

5. Click on the Apply Now Tab to open the applicant authentication page.

6. Enter your card Serial NumberPIN code and select your preferred Arm of Service, type of commission and click “Submit”.
