It also provides bachelor’s degree holders from 180 countries with the opportunity to pursue Master’s degree programs in the arts. Art scholarships receive about 10% of the Swiss Excellence Government Scholarship. Applications for the 2023/2024 intake are now available and can be viewed through the dedicated application portal.

This fully funded scholarship covers the following:

  • Accommodation allowance (CHF 300 housing allowance).
  • Full tuition fee cover
  • Medical insurance.
  • Monthly stipends (CHF 1,920).
  • Airfare allowance.
  • Research funding

Requirements for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

The following documents are required for the application for the Swiss government excellence scholarship:

  • A motivational letter.
  • CV which states academic achievements, and publications
  • A filled FCS research proposal form
  • A Bachelor’s certificate for art students or master’s certificate
  • Academic transcripts from previous institutions
  • A nomination letter from a Professor at a Swiss university stating his/her willingness to supervise the applicant’s research
  • Signed FCS medical certificate form

ETH Zurich offers the following fully funded scholarships for international students:

  1. ESOP stands for Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Program. This grant is for outstanding candidates planning to pursue a master’s degree at ETH Zurich. This scholarship includes a full tuition remission, mentorship, networking, and a living expense award (CHF 12,000 every semester).
  2. ETH-D Fellowship- This award includes a full tuition waiver as well as CHF 7,500 in living expenses per semester. The applicant’s department may also offer graduate assistantship positions with monthly salaries ranging from CHF 500 to CHF 600. Alternatively, they may offer a CHF 3000 per semester scholarship.

Requirements to Apply for ETH Zurich Scholarships

  1. A completed online application form for both scholarships. ESOP and ETH-​D Scholarships applications are supplied via the university’s online Master application eApply portal.
  2. A non-plagiarized and well-cited pre-proposal for a master’s thesis
  3. Details of two referees.

The application for ETH Zurich scholarships usually will open in November.

University of Geneva Excellence Master’s Scholarships

The University of Geneva is Switzerland’s leading public research university. It features world-class research facilities and provides international students with a variety of English-taught programs. The university is a member of the League of European Research Universities, which includes the Universities of Oxford and Imperial College London. It has generated ten Nobel Prize winners because to the high level of its teaching and research.

Although not entirely supported, overseas students seeking fully funded scholarships in the sciences can apply for this grant to receive significant financial assistance.
