Durham University Masters Scholarship Benefits

The Durham University Masters Scholarship provides numerous benefits, including

  • full payment of University tuition fees, a stipend for living expenses (paid out in 12 monthly installments), and one return economy air ticket from the student’s home country to the UK, as well as the cost of return travel between the UK airport and Durham City.
  • successful applicants will receive fully funded, self-catered, mixed accommodation at Hatfield College and a “settling in allowance” upon arrival.
  • The Scholarship also covers the cost of the UK visa and the UK Health surcharge.

It’s important to note that the Scholarship does have some restrictions. For instance, it does not provide funding for dependents or travel during the Scholarship period. Also, the accommodation provided is for the Scholarship holder only, and dependents cannot be accommodated.

The duration of the Programme is one academic year.

Eligibility Criteria for Durham University Masters Scholarship

To qualify for the Durham University Masters Scholarship, applicants are required to meet certain criteria.

Firstly, applicants must have received an unconditional offer to study a master’s programme by June 2023.

Secondly, applicants must not have secured any other scholarship to fund their postgraduate studies.

In addition to this, applicants must hold a relevant honors degree of sufficient standard to be admitted to their chosen Master’s course, fulfill all other course entry requirements, and possess the relevant English language qualification.

Furthermore, applicants must not hold a Master’s degree, and lack the financial means to fund their postgraduate studies in the UK.

Applications will be assessed based on academic merit, personal qualities, and how well the chosen degree programme aligns with the candidate’s aims.

How to Apply

If you’re interested in applying for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship, there are three stages you’ll need to complete.

First, submit an academic application for your chosen master’s programme. Within this application, you should indicate your intention to apply for the scholarship.

Finally, in stage three, you’ll need to submit all of the required supporting documents via email to [email protected] by the specified deadline. These documents include your Durham University offer letter, academic transcript, references, and IELTS certificate. Make sure to double-check that you’ve submitted everything before the deadline.
