CSSPS: How to Use a Phone or PC to Check Placement

The procedures for determining your SHS placement are outlined below.

Assume your index number is 9797979797.

STEP 1: Launch the Messages app on your phone and start a new SMS or TEXT message.

STEP 2: Fill in the blanks with your index number. Send the number, such as 9797979797, to the short code 1060.

STEP 3: You will be informed of your school placement. (If this is unsuccessful, move on to STEP 4.)

Step 4 is to send the index number along with the final two digits of your graduation year. For instance, if you finished in 2020, send 979797979719 to 1060. 

CHECK BECE PLACEMENT ON PC: HOW TO DO IT

The steps below should help you check your CSSPS placement online.

1. Make sure you have the placement checker before beginning.
2. Make sure a computer with Internet access is available to you.
3. Use your computer to access the CSSPS result checker web portal at http://www.cssps.gov.gh/ or https://www.cssps.org/.
4. Enter your BECE index number to continue. It should include your exam year and ten digits. Use 123456789021, for instance, if your index number is 1234567890 and the year of your exam is 2021. 
5. Your checker will come with a serial number. Enter the serial number from the scratch card’s top onto the field provided.
6. You can find your PIN (Personal Identification Number) on the scratch card you bought. Type it in the PIN section.
7. Click “submit” when you’re done. Be patient while you wait for the results window to open. If you are successful, you will see the option to print the CSSPS placement checker form. Click the print button to print your form. 
8. Do the self-placement if you are not assigned to a school.

Self Placement: What Is It?

Self-placement is the manual procedure that gives applicants who don’t get their first choice of schools the chance to choose from the available schools with openings.

How to Perform Self-Placing

1. To self-place yourself if you weren’t placed automatically, just follow the instructions below.
2. Websites to visit for CSSPS include www.cssps.org and www.cssps.gov.gh.
3. To proceed, select the page’s check placement module.
4. After making a successful purchase using the steps above, enter your e-voucher PIN and Index Number.
5. A redirect will take you to the self-placement module.
6. Based on your aggregate, you will be given a list of schools to choose from here. Select the school and type of residence you prefer (day or boarding).
   Lastly, select Confirm and print the changes.
