The courses offered at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping and Training Center are what we will be looking at in this guide.

The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC) was established by the Ghana Ministry of Defense (MoD) in 1998 and commissioned in 2004.

The aim was to build on Ghana’s five decades of internationally recognized peacekeeping experience and expertise and share it with other countries in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region and across Africa.

This was in response to the requirement for military, police and civilian personnel to be trained to meet the changing needs of multidimensional peacekeeping operations. The Center is one of three (3) Peacekeeping Training Centers of Excellence established by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to provide training in Peacekeeping and Peace Support Operations (PSO) across Africa.
