The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the secondary level. In response to this, several new public schools have been created, while existing school facilities have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Science School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) indicate some disparity in school selection. Students overwhelmingly choose popularly but few traditionally high-performing schools, leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have improved significantly in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe this anomaly is due in part to a lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
The school was established in May 1977 by the Catholic Mission under the instrumentality of Bishop (now Archbishop Emeritus) Most Rev. Peter Kwasi Sarpong. The first batch of students numbered 28 made up of 15 boys and 13 girls. Now it has a population of 1570. The school is located at Akaporiso, a suburb of Obuasi- the famous gold mining town in Ashanti,
about 57.6 kilometers from Kumasi.
