St. Joseph Seminary Senior High School is in the Catholic Diocese of Konongo – Mampong, in Asante – Mampong.

Mr. Kwaku Addae founded it in 1968 as a private day institution to provide secondary education to Mampong and surrounding area middle school leavers who could not gain admission to public secondary schools.

The Mampong Catholic Church took it over in 1977 and converted it into a technical school, changing the name from Sekyereman Secondary School to Sekyereman Catholic Polytechnic.

Akosa Business College was absorbed into the school in 1980, and the name was changed once more to Sekyereman Catholic Secondary Commercial School. The technical department was phased out over time.

Rev. Fr. Agnoli Savino, then parish priest of the Mampong Catholic Church, became the school’s first headmaster when it became a public school in 1989.
