The President of Ghana Akufo-Addo Reassures Ghanaians of Government’s Dedication to Overcoming Challenges.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has given the citizens of Ghana his assurance that the government is resolute in finding solutions to the challenges the country is facing.

The President addressed the nation at the 18th Consultative Council Meeting of the Anglican Church on Sunday, February 12, 2023, and acknowledged that while Ghana, like the rest of the world, is facing challenges, he believes that with divine guidance and collective effort, they can be overcome.

The President expressed his confidence in overcoming current difficulties facing Ghana and the world, with the support of a determined effort and collective sacrifices. He emphasized his belief that with the help of God, they will bring relief to the people and return the economy to its prior high rate of growth before the COVID outbreak in 2020 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The President with the Archbishop of Canterbury

The President extended a warm welcome to the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the members of the Anglican Consultative Council on their visit to Ghana. He acknowledged and honored the important role the Anglican Church has played in the growth and prosperity of the country.

Additionally, the President commended the Church’s financial sustainability initiative, aimed at promoting self-sufficiency, and expressed his appreciation for the establishment of an insurance brokerage as a means of achieving this goal.

The President highlighted the positive impact of initiatives underway by various dioceses of the Anglican Church, noting that they are contributing to economic growth and job creation in communities across Ghana. He expressed the government’s readiness to collaborate and support the Church’s efforts, especially those aligned with the state’s policy principles, in order to drive progress and prosperity in Ghana.
