The Yves Rocher Foundation, renowned for its commitment to the public interest, based in La Forêt Neuve – Glénac – La Gacilly, France, under the presidency of Mr. Jacques Rocher, is hosting a photography competition as part of its ongoing photography initiatives.

The Yves Rocher Foundation Photo Award aims to recognize a professional photographer who aspires to create a photo essay focusing on environmental issues, the connection between humanity and the Earth, or the significant challenges of transitioning to a greener future.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Work as a photojournalist.
  • Possess proficiency in writing and speaking either French or English.

Selection Criteria

  • Only JPEG format is permitted (TIFF and EPS formats are not accepted).
  • Completion of IPTC fields, including captions and copyright, and submission of a PDF file containing the captions.
  • Maximum file size per image: 3 MB.
  • Image files must be named and numbered according to the desired projection order for the jury. Note: Applications that fail to meet the specified technical criteria will be disqualified from the competition.
  • To maintain file anonymity, no indication of the applicant’s identity should be visible within the images.

Documents Required for Application

  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Applicant’s cover letter providing a description of their photo essay project (maximum 1 typed page). This letter must not contain any information that reveals the applicant’s identity.
  • Provisional budget outlining the funding required for the photo essay project. Note: If there is additional funding from other partners, the applicant must disclose their names for approval by the Yves Rocher Foundation, which reserves the right not to mention them.
  • Photo essay consisting of black and white or color images: a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 images (in the accepted format).
  • Relevant scans from publications, if applicable.
  • Copy of the photographer’s identification document.
  • Sworn statement affirming their status as a photojournalist.
