Below are the admission requirements to study English at the University of Portsmouth:
Qualifications or experience
1. An honors degree in a relevant subject, with approximately 50% English content and classification of at least 2:1.
2. GCSE Mathematics and English language at grade C (Grade 4) or above, or equivalent.
English language requirements
1. Applicants whose first language is not English, and who do not have GCSE English language at grade C (Grade 4) or above, require English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component less than 6.0.
If you don’t meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme before you start your course.
