Government through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education has released a total amount of GH¢295,200,000.00 for the payment allowances for both trainee nurses and teachers.
The amount is the final part of the payment of the nurses’ allowance from March to June 2020, for all trainees in public training institutions. Each trainee is to receive an amount of 400 for these months.
The information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in an interview on kessben FM announced the release of the funds, said it was working assiduously to ensure that trainees who could not receive their allowances owing to challenges with their E-zwich cards are paid immediately.

“Trainees who may have other challenges with the payment of the allowance are kindly advised to contact the heads their schools for redress,” He stated.
As part of the 2016 campaign message of the NPP government, President Akufo-Addo and his administration had set to for fill his promise to trainees even in this COVID-19 times. The payment of the allowance is to reduce the burden of trainee teachers and nurses, especially the final years to have the sound mind to study as they are about to write their final papers.
