All about Akome Senior High Technical School

Akome Senior High Technical is one of the senior high schools in the VOLTA Region at Akome of Ho West district. The Experimental Junior Secondary School was converted into Akome Secondary Technical School in 1991. 

The Akome Senior High Technical School was established as part of the previous Educational Reforms in 1987.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church has founded in 1952 as a Girls’ Middle Boarding School. The Girls’ School was converted into a Middle Mixed School in 1958 to make education available to community boys.

In the late 1970s, it was converted once more into an Experimental Junior Secondary School.

On January 28, 1991, the current Akome Senior High Technical School opened its doors to sixty-one students, thirty-one (31) boys and thirty (30) girls.

To be a provider of high-quality pre-tertiary education for the youth to enable them to pursue further training in tertiary institutions and make them fit for the world of work and live decent lives.
