About Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Fellowships
The Harry Frank Guggenheim African Fellow Awards Program seeks applications from emerging African scholars studying aspects of violence on or directly related to the African continent. Once every two years, the Foundation selects a cohort of approximately a dozen scholars for their high-quality projects that closely align with the Foundation’s interest in violence. The proposed project must relate directly to the African continent, covering various topics such as war, crime, terrorism, family and intimate-partner relationships, climate instability, natural resource competition, racial, ethnic, and religious conflict, political extremism, and nationalism. Interested candidates should submit their applications before the deadline.

Requirements for Harry Frank Guggenheim African Fellow Awards
Applicants who wish to apply for the Harry Frank Guggenheim African Fellow Awards should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants can be citizens of any country.
- The age limit for applicants is 40 years old or younger.
- Applicants must currently be enrolled in a Ph.D program at an accredited African higher-education institution and living on the continent.
- Research proposals must be from the natural and social sciences or related disciplines, focusing on advancing knowledge on the causes, expressions, and management of violence and aggression.
