Ransom Payment Secures Release of Four Abducted Kogi Poly Students

The abducted Kogi State Polytechnic students and their driver have been released by their captors, according to reports.

The unfortunate incident happened last week on the Akunnu-Ajowa Road in the Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State while the victims were travelling home for the Christmas holiday.

The kidnappers demanded a sum of N16 million after contacting their families immediately after the abduction.

Community leader and former Majority Leader of the Akoko North-West Local Government, Mr Soji Ogedengbe, confirmed the release of the students and their driver on Wednesday. However, he also disclosed that an undisclosed amount of money was paid as ransom before their release.
