The National Secretariat for the National Service System has launched investigations into the verbal abuse scandal that took place at the Manhya Government Hospital in Kumasi, Ashanti Region on 29 November 2022 between a doctor, his father and a nurse.
Mr Alex Opoku Mensah, Regional Director of Ashanti NSS, whose daughter is a doctor at Manhia Hospital, reportedly verbally assaulted and abused a nurse who tried to correct a prescription written by his daughter.
On the audio from the scene, Mr. Alex is heard calling the nurse all sorts of nicknames because of her behavior and this seems to have left many Ghanaians in shock.
Although Mr. Alex Opoku-Mensah has publicly apologized for his behaviour, many citizens believe that the relevant authorities should ask him the matter.
The National Service Secretariat has taken note of the problem, has apologized to all victims of the scandal and assured Ghanaians that it is keen to look into the matter to ensure justice is served.
