Legon Students given up to June 22 to come for their belongings

Students of the University of Ghana, who still have their belongings on campus have until Monday June 22, 2023 to come for their belongings.

This was indicated in a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia.

She explained that it is “to enable the University provide vacant rooms for resident and non-resident final year students, who wish to return to campus from 15th June, 2023, to complete the academic year”

She mentioned that the University will take steps to remove all unclaimed belongings of non-final year students to a common area from Monday, 22nd June, 2023.

Final year students who do not plan to return to campus to complete the academic year, but will participate in the academic programme off-site, have also been advised to remove their belongings immediately or not later than Friday, 3rd July, 2023.

Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia warned that the University, its employees, agents or assigns will not be liable for any lost items, unclaimed belongings or damage caused to any belongings.

Below is the statement from the Registrar;

FINAL OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO REMOVE BELONGINGS FROM CAMPUSES

All resident students in University Halls of Residence and Private Hostels on the University of Ghana campuses (with the exception of final year students intending to return to the campuses to complete their studies and undertake online examinations) are hereby informed that the University requires them to remove their belongings from their rooms as soon as practicable, and in any case not later than Monday, 22nd June, 2023.

This is to enable the University provide vacant rooms for resident and non-resident final year students, who wish to return to campus from 15th June, 2023, to complete the academic year.

This is the final opportunity for affected students to remove their belongings with immediate effect, and not later than Monday, 22nd June, 2023.

The University will take steps to remove all unclaimed belongings of Non-Final Year students to a common area from Monday, 22nd June, 2023.

For the avoidance of doubt, final year students refers to:

Level 400 students;

Final year postgraduate students;

Final year Sandwich students;

Final year (level 600) Clinical students; and

Level 300 BSc Medical Sciences Students

Final year students who do not plan to return to campus to complete the academic year, but will participate in the academic programme off-site, must also remove their belongings immediately or not later than Friday, 3rd July, 2023.

The University, its employees, agents or assigns shall not be liable for any lost items, unclaimed belongings or damage caused to any belongings.
