What exactly are UN Youth Volunteers?

The United Nations Youth Volunteers are a subset of United Nations Volunteers that was established in response to the United Nations Secretary-call General’s for greater volunteerism among the world’s largest generation of people under 30.

They assist the United Nations, one of the world’s most important intergovernmental organizations, in carrying out its mandate. These young volunteers are assigned to host UN agencies to work on the front lines of political, development, and humanitarian field operations.

They are young people aged 18 to 29 who want to participate in global development and peace initiatives.

Opportunities to Volunteer

The United Nations publishes a selection of volunteer opportunities on a regular basis. To apply, candidates must first create a profile in the United Nations Volunteer Global Talent Pool through our Unified Volunteering Platform.
