The Neuropsychology International Fellowship (NIF) scheme was initiated in 2011 by Professor Narinder Kapur, who served as the President of the British Neuropsychological Society (BNS) and was a member of the executive committee of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Neuropsychology (DoN). Previously, two NIF awards were granted annually, each amounting to £1,000, with one award funded by the BPS Division of Neuropsychology and the other by the British Neuropsychological Society. These awards were primarily designed to support neuropsychologists from developing countries in acquiring knowledge, skills, and experience by spending time in the UK. Additionally, there was an intention to enable a NIF fellow to travel from the UK to a developing country. Therefore, NIFs provided the opportunity for several fellows to visit a department of their choice in the UK to gain experience and knowledge in Neuropsychology, with the aim of utilizing these skills in the future.

Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduates from diverse cultures, including Low- and Middle-Income countries, who wish to enhance their knowledge and research experience in neuropsychology in the UK, or individuals from the UK who seek to develop neuropsychology as part of a field project in developing countries, are eligible to apply. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in the field of neuropsychology, either due to their ethnicity or other factors such as disability, sex, or LGBTQIA+ status.
