In addition, remedial pupils who have taken the school WASSCE in the past and who enrolled in any public or approved private schools in form three only for the purpose of the exam would not be permitted to participate.

Such kids are urged to join up for the WASSCE for Private Candidates, which has been created especially for remedial pupils and gives them the option to sign up for whichever many topics they choose to take.

The full statement from WAEC is provided below.

  • Only students in their third or final year of senior high school are eligible to take the WASSCE for School Candidates, which is a school exam. It is consequently against the norms and regulations of the examination for schools to engage in the following activities:
  • Advertise the WASSCE for School Candidates and solicit students in any way possible, such as through print, internet, or social media.
  • Students who have not attended senior high school from their first through third years and who lack the necessary continuous assessment records should be registered. 70% of the WASSCE (SC) grades come from the external examination, and 30% come from the continuous evaluation. Pupils who switched from one school to another for whatever reason should show proof of the relevant records for continuing assessment.
  • Students who are not in their last year or who are not truly students at the institution should not be registered. According to intelligence assessments, some pupils in public schools transferred to private schools to enrol for the exam after receiving guarantees that they would achieve good grades from these institutions.
  • Register “remedial” students who have taken the WASSCE (SC) before and enroll them in some public or recognized private schools in form three just for the purpose of exams. Such kids are urged to join up for the WASSCE for Private Candidates, which has been created especially for remedial pupils and gives them the option to sign up for whichever many topics they choose to take.
